Twistars USA has always been a program that demands respect throughout the nation. Year after year our athletes refuse to do anything else but succeed. This is a strong tribute to their character, desire, perseverance and true grit. 2011 was no different, in fact it could be considered one of our best years ever!
With a national record 14 national qualifiers to the Junior Olympic National Championships, most clubs would rest on that glory. Well 3 young ladies refused to just qualify… they wanted to make a statement and send a message. They did so by earning a spot on the USA Jr Olympic National Team. This prestigious honor is given to those that place in the top 4 all around spots in the various age divisions. Bayle Pickel, Lindsey Lemke, and Rachel Haines turned in stellar performances in order to make this dream come true.
Bayley was crowned the Jr B National AA Champion, with teammate Lindsey finishing a toe flex (.05) behind her in 4th place while earning the National Title on the Uneven Bars (9.6). Rachel Haines placed 3rd, a mere .2 from the national title in the Jr D Age group.
A couple of rewards will soon be coming their way. First all 3 have earned a FREE training camp at the national team training center in Houston Texas in October. Then they will be part of the Region 5 All Star Team which will travel to Rio De Janerio, Brazil in November. Great rewards for great performances!
